Rawco recently completed retaining wall works at Charlotte Rise Estate, a premium residential development in Highton, located in Geelong’s scenic western corridor.
Positioned on an elevated site, Charlotte Rise boasts sweeping views across Geelong, the You Yangs, and beyond. With direct access to the Barwon River, walking trails, schools, and local shopping precincts, the estate offers a strong balance of lifestyle and convenience.
Rawco was engaged to supply and install both mass rock and concrete sleeper retaining walls across the 10 lot subdivision. As part of our delivery, we also installed custom offset fence cleats, which were welded to the top of each steel post to support the future installation of Colorbond fencing above the retaining walls.
This addition allowed for a more integrated, future-ready solution that supports both functionality and clean visual outcomes.
The mass rock wall footing design include reinforced concrete stub pier design. These piers where drilled below the reinforced strip footings to achieve clearance below the zone of influence of the new sewer line in the road reserve.
Tight access and an active construction environment posed challenges throughout the build. Close coordination with the head contractor was essential, as works were delivered alongside other civil and services trades on a compact site.
The overhead power assets, and adjacent Barwon water reserves also restricted our movements onsite, and needed to be considered at all times during the installation of the retaining walls.
